Baptism

At Good Shepherd, we love celebrating baptisms, and we are glad that you are considering baptism!  We believe that baptism is a tangible way that God displays his grace.  Whether we are baptizing an infant as a sign that they will be raised as part of God's people or we are baptizing an adult who has come to faith, we celebrate God expanding his family.

After his death and resurrection, Jesus gave the Great Commission: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:18-20). We, therefore, believe that baptism is an important part of the Christian life. Whether you are baptized as an infant or as an adult, whether you are baptized with full immersion or a sprinkle of water, you have taken a key step in walking with Jesus.

We want to walk with you through this important event. Please fill out the baptism information form below, and then the Pastor will contact you to schedule a meeting.  Because baptism is about becoming part of the family of faith, we want to know your story, to discuss the importance of baptism, and to answer any questions you may have.

Please let us know when the best times to meet are for your meeting with the Pastor. We can arrange evening and weekend meetings to accommodate your family's schedule.

At Good Shepherd, we baptize either with our baptismal font or with our baptismal pool. The important part is that water is used to show us the rebirth and renewal that we have in Jesus.
