This Week at Good Shepherd
Be the Church Weekend!
November 14-16
Remember last Spring when we shocked everyone by canceling our Sunday worship services and worshiped God by caring for the people in our community? That was such a great experience and a powerful witness to the people of the Southbay that we have decided to designate four weekends a year as "Be the Church Weekend" at Good Shepherd. We are not going to cancel our regular worship services, but we are going to challenge every member of Good Shepherd to show God's love to our community by participating in an OUT event (remember the Triangle: UP-IN-OUT?) of some kind that blesses others.
Each Growth Group is organizing an OUT event for sometime that weekend (or the week before) and you are invited to be part of it. Watch the Sunday program for a list of projects you can participate in or e-mail the church office for more information. Don't miss this opportunity to BE THE CHURCH!

It has been 2 years since the last Maya Works sale. We are excited to once again offer for sale handcrafted work from Guatemalan artists. These are all "Fair Traded" items and the workers depend on their sales for their livelihood. Come and do your Christmas shopping with beautiful crafts and great prices!! Please look for us between services in the Community Life Center.

Thanksgiving Eve Worship
Wednesday, November 26th, 7:00 PM
Begin your holiday celebration right by giving thanks to the One who is the source of every blessing in your life. This uplifting service will include great music from our band and choirs, a moving time of Communion, and an offering of our thanks to God. Bring canned goods for a special offering to those who are in need.
Thanksgiving Feast
Sunday, November 23rd
Autumn leaves, roasting turkey, homemade pies, Thanksgiving with friends and family? Sounds great doesn't it? Plans are well under way to have a Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd family and friends Thanksgiving dinner on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 23, right here in our Community Life Center.
We will be gathering together not just for a yummy meal, but to give thanks to our God who has placed us all in the same church as we are God's servants serving one another.
So now is the time to plan on who you would like to invite to this really wonderful event, and what part you might enjoy doing. If you have any questions, please call Deanna Yu, 377-5384.
